2007 four D box set containing all of brother Ray's released recordings between 1949 and 1956. 94 tracks include classics such as 'Mess Around', 'I Got A Woman' and 'Hallelujah, I Love Her So'. This landmark set comes with a 44 page booklet that tells the story of this genius and contains session details and rare period photos. He was Ray Charles, a hero to the black community of such exalted status that no other popular entertainer, with the possible exception of Louis Armstrong, has ever achieved. Charles was the Bishop, the Right Reverend, The High Priest of Soul. Atlantic Records proclaimed him the Genius, a title he has born for over fifty years. As a singer who seduced the world with his voice, composer, bandleader, arranger, pianist, alto saxophonist, record producer and performer whose marriage of gospel and R & B helped prepare the basis for soul music, his prolific work deserves no other praise.
