Growing up in the shadow of some of the greatest Death Metal acts of all time, Tampa, Florida’s THE ABSENCE are ready to claim their birthright, and reignite the Tampa Death Metal and U.S Death Metal scenes. Meshing the best of European influence with the undeniable southern Death influence, THE ABSENCE has emerged with a new brand of American Death that showcases a vast array of musical metal motivation. Smart arrangements, furious riffs and attention to writing actual songs with masterful instrumentation, set THE ABSENCE apart from many of today’s younger acts. The title track, "From Your Grave" best encapsulates THE ABSENCE; culling the best from masters like IRON MAIDEN, to influences like CANNIBAL CORPSE and pioneers like AT THE GATES.
