Editorial Reviews:
Album Description
ASHTAR is the name of a current Brazilian band displaying a great sense of originality. Its first album is an excellent one, named "Urantia" (2002). Fernanda G. MESQUITA’s English singing melts as well with the electric group’s sonorities as with traditional instruments (Flutes, bagpipes, percussions…). Let’s also notice that the musicians chose a specific musical style, crossing celtic music, folk, heavy-metal and Progressive rock. Those styles fit well together, sometimes melt, sometimes cohabitating. Add to this a slight touch of gothic and the death-singing of guitar player Luiz A. GARCIA, and you’ll obtain the highly surrealistic meeting between THE GATHERING, NEXUS and KARNATAKA !!! You think that’s virtually impossible ? Listen to ASHTAR, and you’ll be converted !…
