Disney actress turned singer. Sound familiar? Kaci Lyn Battaglia, however, isn't just a Britney clone. The Florida teenager has telegenic looks; a strong, throaty vibrato that belies her 14 years; and a sensibility that allows her to imbue these pop confections with impishness and personality. There's more Madonna in training here than Mandy Moore. The formula only lets her down with her far too precious rendition of the Partridge Family chestnut "I Think I Love You." The crack production is pure joy as disembodied background vocals function as a Greek chorus and inventive dynamics provide bite. "Paradise" is a potent dose of pure escapist pleasure peppered with sassy Latin flavors, and "Beggin' Me" is downright nasty. Teen pop has a new princess and her name is Kaci. --Jaan Uhelszki
