“So Sedated, So Secure” is DARKEST HOUR’s third and most destructive album continuing in their spirit of misery and frustration. For over 6 years, DARKEST HOUR has proven that they are one of the most brilliant and distinct bands in the extreme hard rock genre. They are unafraid to use a variety of musical weapons to paint their sordid stories including death/thrash guitar riffing, rumbling bass and ballistic styled percussion. The ferocious blend of brutal riffs and exorcising screams has an underlying hint of melodic brutality that stays undeniably extreme yet memorably listenable. Conventional power metal song structures ala classic Iron Maiden and Judas Priest constitute a subtle, permeating influence in many of their songs without leaving behind the band’s aggressive hardcore upbringings.
