Synopsis
VIRGINIA'S RUN - DVD Movie
Amazon.com
In the tradition of National Velvet, this Nova Scotia-set family film revolves around a 13-year-old with a passion for horses. Like Elizabeth Taylor’s Velvet, Virginia (Lindze Letherman) even has an older sister, Caroline (Rachel Skarsten). Sadly, her mother was killed in a riding accident three years ago and her father, Ford (Gabriel Byrne), has since forbidden Virginia to ride. Nonetheless, she’s been visiting Twister in secret and is even with her when she gives birth to a foal. Virginia names him Stormy and he takes to her from the start, but to no one else--including owner Blake Raines (Robert Guy Miranda). So Blake sells the horse and Virginia is heartbroken. How is she going to compete in the Memorial Day endurance race? And where does Blake's new trainer, Jessie (Joanne Whalley), fit into the picture? Those questions--and others--will be answered before the end of this heartwarming adventure. --Kathleen C. Fennessy
