Melindy's Medal

Melindy thinks a great many things are wonderful: moving into the new housing project in Boston, having a father who plays the saxophone, and a grandmother who tells the most exciting stories, especially the three medals that belong to Melindy's father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Melindy, being just a girl, wonders whether she, can win a medal for "bravery in the field of honor." The book tells of the wonderful year in Melindys' life, the year she finally did win a very special medal.
