Colombian pop siren Shakira wowed American audiences with her first cross-lingual album, Laundry Service. Fueled by the English-language hit, "Whenever, Wherever," the album debuted at No. 3 on Billboard 2000 and moved more than 344,000 copies in its first two weeks in stores. Laundry Service has sold more than 1.5 million copies domestically.
